Job Description:
This position is primarily based within Lanark County.
Reporting to the Manager of Community Employment Services, the Labour Market Data Analyst researches labour market information from within Renfrew and Lanark Counties, analyses it and prepares reports to support community planning. The position responds to requests from employers, educators and organizations for up-to-date labour market trends and analysis that support the attraction and recruitment of employees within sectors.
The data analyst works within a multi-disciplinary team to prepare an annual local labour market planning report, newsletters and community consultation reports that summarize feedback provided by local employers and organizations on the state of the labour market. The data analyst prepares and presents labour market findings to groups, both in person and virtually, and is a point of contact for public inquiries into labour market trends in Renfrew and Lanark Counties.
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of a 2-year Business Diploma or Math Degree
- 3 years related work experience
- Previous experience analyzing statistics and extracting data from various sources
- Previous experiences in report writing and developing presentations preferred
- Working-knowledge of computer software i.e. Excel and Word & familiarity with databases
- Strong communication skills/Comfortable making presentations
- Highly organized
- Works well independently and with team members
- Valid Class G Ontario Driver’s License. Some travel required for community consultations/presentations.
Anticipated Weekly Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday, 9am to 3:30pm (includes 30 minute daily unpaid lunch break)
- This position is paid at Payband 8

This position primarily involves remote work, but does require some travel to make community presentations.
