WHAT YOU WILL DO
The GIS Specialist is responsible for providing a wide range of geospatial services for the creation of GIS products to support our forest operations.
As a GIS Specialist you will be responsible for the following:
- GPS data downloading and processing
- Data analysis and reporting
- Maintenance of Geodatabases
- Production of operational maps and products
- Performance of quality assurance and tracking
WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Must have:
- A Degree or Diploma and Advanced Certificate in Geographic Information Systems or equivalent demonstratable experience
- Minimum of 1 year of directly related experience with the B.C. Forest Industry
- Proficient in ESRI ArcGIS tools and Trimble Forestry’s Land Resource Manager
- Experience in the use of all types of remote sensing data
- A solid technical understanding of databases and Microsoft Office™ applications
- An understanding B.C. Forest Management practices
