We are currently seeking a motivated individual for the position of General Office Clerk/Office Assistant.
This individual should have the flexibility to work in a small office where cross training is essential.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Purchasing
- Responsible for all stages of the purchasing process
- Process and monitor new orders for price, quantity, and shipping accuracy
- Manage all materials to ensure production and customer requirements are met
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships
- Process shipping documents for both internal and external carriers
- Identify opportunities for improvement, including cost savings
- Communicate regularly with Management team and prepare relevant reports
Other
- Welcome customers at reception and answer the phone
- Process sales orders
- Complete inside sales quotes
- Dispatch
- Responsible for filing and office organization
- Learn all areas of office operations to work as part of the administrative team
- Follow all policies and procedures to ensure quality requirements are achieved
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism with all interactions
- All other duties as assigned
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
- Work experience in office administration, purchasing and/or dispatch
- Strong computer skills - experience using Office 365 and Business Central an asset
- Demonstrate ability to be adaptable, take on varied duties to support a small office
- Effective communication skills both verbal and written - can present your ideas in a clear professional manner on paper, in-person, and over the phone
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Shows leadership qualities and is a team player
- Reliable with an excellent work ethic and attendance
Education & Experience:
- Post Secondary education related to Business, Accounting, Purchasing, Inventory, or equivalent work experience would be an asset
- Experience with ISO and TDG would be an asset
