Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of general labour or related experience in scaffolding, equipment rentals, and/or home improvement.
- Forklift License.
- Valid Ontario G-Class Driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Able to multi-task and work effectively in a fast paced environment
- General housekeeping, equipment cleaning and yard organization duties.
- Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of all areas of the work environment including the yard.
- Daily equipment inspection and reporting any defects, damages or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Cycle counting of inventory
- Loading and unloading of trucks as needed.
- Cleaning and washing of construction equipment.
- Prepare new fleet for rental
- Become familiar with the scaffolding components and how they work together to ensure that orders are sent with the correct components.
- Ensure interaction with co-workers, employees at other stores and external customer/suppliers is at the highest standard.
- Must wear the approved Company uniform at all times while on duty. Personal grooming and hygiene must be kept at the highest level.
- Effectively complete all tasks as assigned by supervisor and coordinate work functions with co-workers.
- Pick and Pack orders for delivery and pick up.
- Accompany driver on pickups of scaffolding and fencing to assist in packing and loading of the truck.
- Adhere to all Company safety standards
- Use of personal protective equipment as required by the Company is mandatory
- Recognize and remedy safety hazards immediately
- Maintain knowledge of relevant legislated standards, such as WHMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods etc. that impact on the store or position
- Review and sign-off on any new polices distributed with respect to safety
- Helps promote safety to all Staff, Customers, Suppliers and Contractors
- Reports any workplace hazards and helps to eliminate them
