Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Gastroenterologist to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Conduct thorough examinations and assessments of patients with gastrointestinal issues.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as endoscopies and colonoscopies.
- Manage acute care situations, including pain management for patients experiencing gastrointestinal distress.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care, including pediatrics when necessary.
- Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record systems like Epic and Cerner.
- Participate in research initiatives to advance the field of gastroenterology and improve patient outcomes.
- Engage in data collection and analysis to support clinical decisions and enhance treatment protocols.
- Administer medications as required, ensuring adherence to safety guidelines.
- Provide education and support to patients regarding their conditions, treatment options, and home care practices.
Requirements
- Medical degree (MD or DO) with specialization in Gastroenterology.
- Valid medical license to practice in the relevant state.
- Previous hospital experience is preferred, along with familiarity with medical terminology.
- Experience in pain management and acute care settings is highly desirable.
- Background in pediatrics is a plus for those interested in treating younger patients.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Proficiency in using electronic health records systems such as Epic or Cerner is advantageous.
- Prior experience in a medical office setting is beneficial for managing administrative tasks related to patient care.
