Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Freight Forwarder and office assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the logistics of freight transportation and office paperworks ensuring that shipments are processed efficiently and effectively. This position requires strong communication skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to negotiate favorable terms with carriers and clients.
Duties
- Coordinate and manage the logistics of freight shipments from origin to destination.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers through effective account management and customer relationship management.
- Conduct inside sales activities to generate new business opportunities within the freight forwarding sector.
- Utilize AS400 systems for data entry and tracking of shipments.
- Negotiate rates and terms with carriers to secure competitive pricing for clients.
- Collaborate with 3PL providers to ensure seamless transportation solutions.
- Monitor shipment progress and address any issues that arise during transit.
- Prepare necessary documentation for customs clearance and compliance.
- Help with office paperwork‘S and cooperate with warehouse team
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sales, account management, or a related field within the freight industry.
- Strong understanding of freight forwarding processes and logistics operations.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms for clients.
- Proficiency in using AS400 or similar logistics software for data entry and shipment tracking.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients and carriers.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
