Help maintain and repair Squamish Nation homes and community spaces with your skilled hands and respectful service. Your work directly supports our Úxwumixw (community) by ensuring safe, functional living environments for our members, honoring the snew̓íyelh (teachings) of care for community resources.
What You’ll Do
- Complete daily work orders for home and property repairs across our territories
- Evaluate job sites and determine needed materials/supplies, coordinating purchases
- Perform skilled carpentry including window/door repairs, flooring, and cabinet installation
- Repair household appliances and complete basic plumbing tasks
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, bobcats, and backhoes when needed
- Maintain Nation roads and install accessibility aids for community members
- Keep tools and vehicles in proper working condition
- Communicate respectfully with members about project timelines and needs
- Follow all safety protocols with wenáxws (respect) for people and property
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years experience in building maintenance/repair (carpentry, plumbing, appliances)
- Ability to operate heavy equipment (excavator, bobcat, backhoe preferred)
- Physical capability for demanding manual labor in all weather conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills for evaluating repair needs
- Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License with clean abstract
- Knowledge of safe work practices and procedures
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately

Salary: $ 44,000 - $ 61,500
Candidates are typically offered compensation between the beginning to the midpoint of the range. We are committed to providing a fair and equitable package that reflects the value an individual brings to the organization.
