The City of Pitt Meadows is hiring an Exhibits Custodian/Fleet Maintenance Coordinator to receive, verify, control, and secure a variety of court exhibits, as well general fleet maintenance work. This is an exciting opportunity to join our new RCMP detachment and help build something great from the ground up.
Reporting to the Manager of RCMP Support Services, this position ensures that a variety of court exhibits (i.e., drug exhibits, firearms and weapons, seized/found property items) are securely processed and stored. They will liaise with RCMP members and other agencies to identify and handle exhibits, and may provide evidence in court. They will also coordinate and schedule police vehicle repairs and servicing needs to ensure fleets are adequately maintained. Considerable independent judgement is required, with complex matters being referred to a superior who also reviews work for conformance and effectiveness. This is not just a job – it’s a legacy. Regular working hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm with a 35-hour workweek. This position is anticipated to start in November/December 2025.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of Grade 12 plus sound related experience preferably in an RCMP Detachment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Sound knowledge of the methods and procedures used in receiving, verifying, handling, securing, and controlling the movement of police exhibits.
- Sound knowledge of the legal requirements regarding the processing and disposition of exhibits and property.
- Sound knowledge of fleet automotive maintenance schedules and equipment related to the work.
- Ability to give evidence in court on matters related to the work.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to safely and effectively perform manual lifting and storing of items of varying weights.
- Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an RCMP Security Clearance.
- Please note, the ability to obtain and maintain RCMP Security Clearance is required by the start date, and is a condition of employment. If you have an active clearance, please indicate your HRMIS number on your application.
