Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy machinery, including excavators, to perform various tasks on construction sites. This role requires a strong understanding of equipment operation and a commitment to safety and efficiency. The Excavator Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed on time and to specifications.
Duties
- Operate excavators and other heavy equipment, including bulldozers, excavators, and skid steers, to perform tasks such as digging, grading and backfilling.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure safe and efficient operation of machinery on-site.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Follow project plans and specifications to complete tasks accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding project progress and any issues that arise.
Experience
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with excavators.
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations is preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand construction plans is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices in all operations.
- Previous experience in construction or similar fields is highly desirable.
- Valid driver's license if required.
