The Evening Wedding Closing Coordinator position is a supervisory role taking place in afternoon/late evening Thursdays through Sundays. This role is responsible for executing, and ending on a high note, our weddings and events by managing our service team and upholding Stella Standards on the event floor. Beginning at guest arrival, this role oversees the service floor (inclusive of bar, dining room, cocktail hour spaces), and ensures all aspects of the Catering Inclusions are executed alongside the Day-of Wedding Coordinator. After Dinner, it is the sole responsibility of our candidate to ensure guests experience remains high, the service team is managed, and the event closes out on a high notes, leaving a lasting impression for guests, and most importantly, our couple.
This would be an excellent position for someone who is excited to learn and looking to get their feet wet in the event industry.
What will your job entail?
- Part or full time on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and/or Sundays for 10 hours or more in the later afternoon/2:00PM (up to 2:00am).
- Understanding and executing a Day-of Timeline and its catering + planning inclusions
- Working in tandem with the Opening Wedding Coordinator to ensure the Catering Event Flow and Guest Experience is being optimized
- Taking on a professional and managerial role at one or multiple venues - exhibiting maturity in hospitality
- Offering Support to the BOH team when needed for an efficeinet an deffective service and close
- Leading the service team by example
- Understanding and enforcing the roles of Service Team members, including host servers, and bartenders
- Being present on the event floor throughout the event, ensuring the event is running smoothly and our service team is properly managed and completing their side duties
- Following and upholding our list of Stella Venue and Catering Standards.
- Assisting with dinner services and expo, overseeing the "floor" and team while cocktail hour, dinner, and bar is being served,
- Respectively and efficiently packing up wedding decor by following an End of Night Decor Plan
- Confident in making decisions best suitable for the company, the couple, and the event.
- Closing the Venue properly by being organized for the next day's events, clean and tidy for evening cleaners to be able to do their job
- Communicating with the third party Security team, noise metering for appropriate DJmusic/volume levels.
- Ensuring Smart Serve guidelines are being followed by bartenders, guests, etc. for safe consumption and safe exits
- Locking up the venue before departure
Job requirements
- Serious interest in the events and wedding industry
- Ability to work most, if not every weekend from May to October
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds (cases of wine, kegs, chair stacks, etc.)
- Ability to work on your feet for upwards of 11 hours
- Service/restaurant experience of 2 year required
- SmartServe Certified
- G license
- Reliable Transportation to St. Jacobs and ability to transfer from venue to venue while at work- personal car is an asset
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
