In response to growing demand for commercial and industrial construction, I/C Construction Inc. was established as a dedicated division of Everest. I/C Construction focuses on delivering high-quality commercial projects with the same commitment to efficiency, innovation, and craftsmanship that defines our residential work.

The Role
This hybrid role supports both estimating and purchasing functions, contributing across the project lifecycle, from preconstruction through execution.
You’ll be responsible for preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates, managing procurement and tender processes, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery. This role is ideal for someone with a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of construction methods and cost drivers.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for residential and commercial projects based on architectural and interior drawings.
- Perform quantity take-offs and calculate labor, material, and overhead costs.
- Collaborate with the Everest team to evaluate project scope, risks, and opportunities.
- Use unit pricing, productivity factors, and historical data to develop benchmark estimates.
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend value engineering solutions.
- Track and analyze job costs and timelines to improve future estimates.
- Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and industry standards.
- Prepare proposals and coordinate submissions with leadership.
- Liaise with architects, engineers, clients, and subcontractors to ensure accurate estimates.
Purchasing
- Define procurement needs for materials, trades, and equipment in alignment with project requirements.
- Prepare and issue RFPs, RFQs, and tender packages for upcoming projects.
- Finalize vendor and subcontractor agreements (e.g., lump sum, unit price, cost-plus).
- Coordinate purchase orders and delivery schedules to support construction milestones.
- Collaborate with site teams to ensure timely procurement and resolve supply chain delays.
- Manage change orders and ensure compliance with contract terms.
Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam)
- Time management, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
- Analytical thinker with excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure.
Experience – Estimating
- 5+ years of experience in construction estimating (residential and commercial)
- Proven understanding of construction processes, methods, and cost drivers
- Experience in quantity take-offs, pricing, and bid preparation
- Familiarity with preconstruction and construction management processes
- Experience in project management is an asset
Experience – Purchasing
- Previous experience in procurement for construction projects
- Understanding of various procurement strategies (traditional, design-build, CM at risk)
- Experience preparing RFPs/RFQs and managing vendor relationships
- Strong negotiation skills and contract administration experience
