Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to build and price projects accurately. Any candidate applying must have construction experience specifically in excavation and earthworks. This role requires proficiency in industry-standard software as well as strong negotiation skills to ensure the best outcomes for our projects.
Responsibilities
- 5 years experience in similar or same role
- Ability to manage large commercial projects
- Ability to interact with customers and clients
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to step into the role and be self-sufficient
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects by analyzing plans, specifications, and other documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers to understand project requirements and scope.
- Utilize appropriate software tools to create accurate estimates and manage project data.
- Conduct site visits to gather necessary information for accurate pricing of materials and labor.
- Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve competitive bids.
- Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle, providing updates and adjustments as necessary.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations for clients.
- Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and related documentation for future reference.
Qualifications

- Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and labor costs.
- Proficiency in estimating software.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful outcomes.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in pricing and cost analysis.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members, clients, and suppliers.
