Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Drywaller to join our construction team. As a Drywaller, you will be responsible for installing and repairing drywall in commercial buildings. Your attention to detail and ability to work with precision will ensure high-quality results.
Duties:
- Plasterers, Drywall Installers, Finishers, and Lathers (NOC 73102):
- Plasterers:
- Clean and prepare surfaces.
- Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency.
- Apply, level, and smooth coats of plaster using trowels, floats, brushes, and spraying equipment.
- Finish corners, angles, and create decorative designs in the finish coat.
- Cure freshly plastered surfaces.
- Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim.
- Spray acoustic materials or texture finish over walls and ceilings.
- Drywall Installers and Finishers:
- Measure, cut, and fit drywall sheets for installation on walls and ceilings.
- Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.
- Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
- Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound.
- Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.
- Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints.
- Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids and place panels for acoustical and coffered ceilings.
- Lathers:
- Prepare wall and ceiling layouts.
- Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings.
- Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring using nails, screws, clips, or wire ties.
- Cut openings in lath for heating, ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets.
- Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams for plaster application.
- May install acoustic tile, hangers for suspended ceilings, and metal studs for composition wallboard or lath.
- Drywall Finisher:
- Also known as tapers, drywall finishers:
- Seal joints, repair cracks, and smooth imperfections on walls and ceilings.
- Use tape and plaster to join drywall panels and create a smooth finish.
- Prepare surfaces for painting or other treatments.
- Responsibilities include:
- Joining drywall panels using tape and plaster.
- Repairing cracks and damage to drywall panels.
- Concealing imperfections or exposed irregularities.
- Layering plaster or spackle to create a flat surface.
- Sanding rough areas for a smooth finish.
- Skimming the surface with a final layer of plaster.
- Managing and maintaining required equipment.
- Reporting progress and job-related issues.
- Ensuring safe and effective use of equipment and materials.
- Drywall Installer:
- Measure, cut, and install drywall panels to fit room dimensions.
- Ensure seamless fit around doors, windows, and electrical outlets.
- Apply tape over joints between panels for a smooth, uniform surface.
- Prepare drywall for finishing touches like painting or wallpapering

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
