As a Drywall Installer/Finisher at Gator Drywall Ltd, you will be responsible for installing, finishing, and repairing drywall in residential and commercial properties. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work independently, and experience with drywall tools and materials. Ideal candidates will have a solid work ethic and a commitment to producing quality results that meet or exceed industry standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years experience required
- Experience with both residential and commercial drywall projects.
- Familiarity with drywall finishing techniques, including texturing and special finishes.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drywall Installation: Measure, cut, and install drywall panels to walls and ceilings in both new construction and renovation projects.
- Taping and Finishing: Apply joint compound and tape to drywall seams, smooth out imperfections, and create a seamless surface for painting.
- Repairs: Patch holes, cracks, and other damage to drywall and perform touch-up work as needed.
- Surface Preparation: Sand surfaces to smooth out any rough areas and prepare drywall for painting.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Tool Maintenance: Maintain and care for drywall tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other team members to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Customer Service: Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients on job sites.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a drywall installer/finisher or in a similar construction-related field.
- Strong knowledge of drywall materials, tools, and techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints, construction plans, and work from measurements.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Physical stamina to lift and maneuver heavy materials, as well as stand, kneel, or bend for extended periods.
- Excellent time-management skills and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices in construction.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
