Calling all animal lovers! Are you passionate about dogs and looking to work in a fun and rewarding environment? The Hound Lounge is seeking a dedicated Part-Time Dog Handler to join our team. As a Dog Handler, you will be responsible for supervising and interacting with dogs in our care, ensuring their safety, well-being, and overall happiness. You will also be responsible for ensuring each customer’s experience is a positive and memorable one. This includes maintaining strong client relations throughout the check-in and check-out process.

Responsibilities:
- Supervise dogs during playtime, ensuring a safe, clean, and engaging environment.
- Interact with dogs through play activities, basic training exercises, and leadership-based enrichment.
- Monitor dog behaviour and health, promptly reporting any concerns to management.
- Maintain cleanliness of play areas, including cleaning up after dogs and sanitizing surfaces.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients, addressing inquiries and ensuring each customer’s experience is positive and memorable.
- Manage the check-in and check-out process, including receiving and processing payments accurately.
- Engage with clients by providing updates about their dogs’ day and building strong relationships.
- Support safe staff-to-dog ratios by being flexible with scheduling and assisting as needed.
- Use computer systems for scheduling, client communication, and record-keeping.
- Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address unexpected situations effectively.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a fun, structured, and enriching environment for all dogs.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with dogs is preferred but not required.
- Must be comfortable handling dogs of all sizes and breeds.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and independently.
- Strong communication skills and a passion for working with animals.
- Availability to work flexible hours.
- A great problem solver because every dog and every day is unique.
- Computer skills are a must as well as good maths skills to ensure checkout goes smoothly.
- Must be comfortable using social media.
- High school or higher education.
- Have your own vehicle.

This job is PHYSICALLY and MENTALLY DEMANDING. Working with dogs in a daycare setting requires employees to pay attention to detail, be quick-thinking, and have physical endurance (to walk, lift, and clean).
