Alpha Canine is seeking passionate dog lovers to join our amazing team! We need Care Specialists who can manage, play, and love dogs of all breeds and sizes.
Position: Care Specialist
Job Type: Full-time/Part-timeSalary: $16.55/hour - 18.00/hour
Schedule: Monday to Sunday (part-time/on-call)
Location: Woolverton Road, Grimsby ON (Work is not remote - located on rural farm)
Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise groups of up to 20 dogs at a time for up to 8 hours.
- Work in dog play areas, on farm property and kennel areas.
- Feed dogs according to their specific dietary needs.
- Administer medical treatments as instructed by pet-parents.
- Maintain cleanliness in work areas throughout the shift.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with pet-parents.
- Demonstrate knowledge of dog behaviour and body language.
- Handle dogs of all sizes and breeds confidently and assertively.
- Embody the Alpha Canine values and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum of one year of experience in the pet industry (daycare, boarding, training) - preferred but not required
- Physically fit to stand and be active for up to 8 hours.
- Ability to work on a rural farm property.
- Confident, calm, and assertive with dogs of all breeds and sizes.
- Must be at least 16 years of age to apply.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in daycare, boarding, or training operations.
- Knowledgeable in dog behaviour and body language.
- Strong team orientation.
