Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Dog Daycare Attendant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a safe, fun, and engaging environment for dogs in our care. Your love for animals and commitment to excellent customer service will help create a positive experience for both the dogs and their owners. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to handle various breeds and sizes of dogs.
**This position will offer up to 24 hours per week. It does require weekend availability and the potential of 1 overnight (paid asleep) shift per week, as scheduled based on dogs that are boarding at the facility. Before applying, please ensure you are able to work weekends and overnight shifts as scheduled.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with dogs during playtime to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Maintain cleanliness of the daycare facility by following the cleaning schedule of play areas, equipment and outdoor areas.
- Supervise and monitor dog behaviour. Awareness of dog behaviour and provide intervention if necessary to prevent conflicts between dogs.
- Daily communication with pet owners, both verbally and in writing, regarding their dog’s stay and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
- Follow all policies/procedures and safety protocols to ensure a safe and engaging environment for all staff and dogs in care.
- Administer food, water, and medications as needed while following specific dietary guidelines.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's activities and needs.
- Assist in lifting tasks - staff must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Participate in training sessions both in person and online on proper handling techniques and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dog daycare or similar environment.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners (verbally and in writing) and provide exceptional care.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.

- Overnight availability – 1 day per week is required. Overnight shifts are paid asleep shifts at the facility.
- Weekend availability is required.
- Applicants must have at least 2 days per week they are available between 7:30am - 6pm, weekend availability and the ability to do 1 overnight shift per week as required when dogs are boarding. This shift allows staff to sleep between 10pm - 6:30am. These shifts run from 6pm - 7:30am.
- We are looking for team members who think on their feet, have a strong sense of logic and excellent problem-solving skills, and can remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations in a fast-paced environment.
- Pet First Aid certification is mandatory – if you do not currently have Pet First Aid, completion of the course will be required within the first 60 days of employment.
- A criminal Background Check will be required.
