Are you a multitasking people person with strong communication skills? We are looking to hire dispatchers for the upcoming winter season.
Dispatchers coordinate the daily mountain operations and logistics of the ski resort. Working within the Patrol Department, they are responsible for daily logging and communications with Lift Operations, Grooming/Slopes, Events, Lift Maintenance, and other departments. As a part of the Patrol team, the focus is on the safety of guests and staff. A vital part of this role is receiving calls from injured guests and dispatching appropriate Patrol assets to manage emergencies and incidents within resort premises while keeping the resort operational. You will also be responsible for communications with outside agencies such as BC Ambulance Service, RCMP, Sun Peaks Fire Rescue, Sun Peaks Heath Centre and Kamloops Search and Rescue.

Compensation Information: $23.10 per hour
Physical Requirement: Medium; work activities involve handling loads up to 20kg; predominantly in an indoor setting (some outdoor work); role involves skiing/snowboarding.
This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

This role is eligible for an incentive for successful applicants to receive $1 per hour worked based on completion of a full winter season contract. Conditions apply to this incentive and will be shared during the interview and onboarding.
Skills you bring with you:
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong communication and administrative skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong typing and computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office.
- Able to multi-task and work under pressure.
Ideal Candidate:
- Previous dispatcher experience.
- Previous First Aid / pre-hospital care experience.
- Previous Ski Patrol / Mountain Operations experience.
- 80 Hour First Aid certification.
- Thorough knowledge of Sun Peaks Resort terrain and village.
- Experience/knowledge of ski area risk management.
- Additional language skills are an asset.
- Ski Area Risk Management certification is an asset.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Taking all incoming phone calls, emails and radio communications to Ski Patrol.
- Providing radio dispatch to Ski Patrol and Outside Operations.
- Working with Patrol Director and Supervisor to organize daily Patrol operations.
- Checking and filing completed First Aid and Patrol documentation.
- Ensuring documentation/records/logs/daily check sheets are completed and accurate as directed by the company, its policies, and representatives.
- Work and communicate effectively with other agencies such as BC Ambulance Service, RCMP, Kamloops Search and Rescue and other groups as needed.
- Utilizing company Emergency Response Plan as required.
- Communicating effectively with the public, resort staff and external organizations.
- Managing volunteer group sign-in and sign-out records and providing reports of days worked.
