Co-op Refinery Complex
$139,607 - $176,773 a year
Regina, Saskatchewan
Full time

The Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC) is hiring a Director, Maintenance & Reliability on a permanent basis in Regina, SK.

Are you ready to take on a key leadership role at one of Canada’s largest integrated refining and upgrading facilities? We are seeking an experienced leader to join our Refinery Leadership Team and shape the future of maintenance and reliability at the Co-op Refinery Complex. If you have a proven track record in maintenance leadership, the vision and strategy to drive long-term reliability, a passion for building high-performing teams, and a continuous improvement mindset, this may be your opportunity to make a lasting impact.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide strategic leadership to the Maintenance & Reliability Department, setting direction to enhance asset availability, reduce operating risk, and move the refinery toward a preventative and predictive maintenance culture.
  • Set expectations for equipment integrity and reliability, guiding asset care strategies, risk-based inspection programs, and critical reliability analysis to ensure safe, reliable, and sustainable operations.
  • Oversee major maintenance and turnaround programs, ensuring effective planning, contractor performance, and resource allocation to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution by championing data-driven decision-making, performance metrics, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Lead and develop a diverse team of over 300 employees, ensuring strong leadership capability, accountability, and a culture of safety, engagement, and technical excellence.
  • Act as a core member of the Refinery Leadership Team, shaping enterprise-wide strategy, supporting incident response, and serving as a trusted source of mechanical and reliability expertise.

Who you’ll work with:

The Team: You will lead a diverse Maintenance & Reliability team of more than 300 management and unionized employees, with direct responsibility for four Superintendents and a Training Manager, guiding safe maintenance execution, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement of refinery operations.

Why it matters:

We fuel Western Canadian communities by offering innovative energy products and providing unmatched service to Co-op member-owners and customers.

Who you are:

You are looking for a career maintenance leadership and:

  • Have 15+ years of relevant experience, including 5–10 years in formal leadership roles, ideally within maintenance operations in a refinery or other manufacturing environments.
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a valid Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation, preferably with APEGS (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered)
  • Are a collaborative leader with the ability to build strong teams, partner with enabling functions, mentor future leaders, and foster a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Are well versed in operational excellence foundations and fundamentals.
  • Are a forward-thinking problem solver who can balance long-term strategy with day-to-day operational demands in a complex manufacturing environment.

What we offer:

  • Competitive salaries, short-term incentives, a comprehensive benefits package, and an employer-contributed pension plan.
  • Encouragement to take advantage of learning opportunities to grow and develop as a Team Member.
  • As a co-operative, we do business differently. We believe in working together to serve Western Canadians, delivering profits back to our communities and investing in sustainable growth. To learn more about who we are and what we offer, visit fcl.crs.
