The Municipality is seeking a passionate, experienced and highly organized Director of Daycare and Programming.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Daycare and Programming will lead the early childhood education centre. This leadership role combines operational management with program development, ensuring excellence in both day-to-day operations and the educational experiences provided to children. The Director will be responsible for maintaining licensing compliance, overseeing staff, developing curriculum, and fostering strong relationships with families, staff, and the broader community. This is a strategic and hands-on role, ideal for a professional with a strong background in early childhood education and leadership.
Who You Are
As an ideal candidate, you will have a deep understanding of provincial childcare regulations, early learning frameworks, and emergent curriculum practices. You possess strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building positive relationships with children, families, staff, and stakeholders. Additionally, you are proficient in using technology for documentation, scheduling, and communication, ensuring smooth operations and accurate record-keeping.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s preferred). Relevant experience may be considered.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening.
