As part of the MCC Ontario Communications team, the Digital Media Associate creates and manages engaging digital content with an emphasis on social media and email marketing. This role combines creative skills (photography, short-form video, and copywriting), with a solid understanding of digital analytics tools. Working closely with the Communications team and supported by designers and marketers, the associate will help elevate our online presence with donors, shoppers, volunteers, and supporters. Rooted in MCC’s mission, this role amplifies authentic storytelling and digital engagement for existing and new audiences.
This is an 18 month contract role with an end date of March 31, 2026.

Required
- Excellent understanding of social media best practices, trends, and metrics.
- Basic understanding of analytics tools (GA4, Meta Insights) and the ability to interpret metrics to support campaign performance reporting.
- Basic photography, videography, and video editing skills (e.g., creating and editing short-form content for social media using Adobe Premiere Rush, Photoshop, or similar tools).
- Strong copywriting, editing, and community engagement skills, with ability to adapt tone across platforms.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a friendly approach with people of all ages and backgrounds. Able to collaborate effectively with Graphic Designers and provide creative input that aligns with brand standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud basics, and social media scheduling tools.
- Well-organized and self-motivated. Able to meet deadlines on multiple concurrent campaigns through independent and collaborative work.
- Values aligned with MCC’s mission of justice, peace, and global understanding, with ability to represent this voice authentically online.
- Ability to travel to MCC Ontario office and Thrift locations approximately 3 times per year
- Bachelor’s degree or College diploma plus a minimum 2 years experience in marketing/advertising with hands-on social media execution, some paid advertising experience (Meta Ads, Google Ads/Ad Grants preferred) and some email marketing experience.
- Familiarity with MCC and MCC Thrift Shops
- Knowledge of the second-hand market, retail trends and merchandising
- Develop and implement cohesive digital media campaigns that align with MCC Ontario strategic goals, including engagement with youth, support for environmental impact, and expanding online reach
- Manage digital content across all relevant platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Google Business, as well as email newsletters and MCC Ontario websites
- Work cross-functionally with all departments to support digital storytelling and campaign execution
Content Creation & Publishing
- Draft copy, plan posts, and coordinate with Graphic Designers and Marketing Specialists for multimedia content (reels, videos, graphics, blog-style posts, newsletters, etc.)
- Maintain a content calendar across platforms to ensure alignment with key campaigns, awareness weeks, holidays, and internal priorities
- Develop audience-specific content that attracts new audiences and deepens engagement with existing donors, customers, volunteers, and supporters
- Ensure all digital content meets accessibility standards, including captions, alt text and appropriate contrast for visuals
Digital Advertising & Analytics
- Plan and execute paid digital campaigns, monitor performance, and optimize for outcomes including engagement, traffic, and conversions
- Use tools such as Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, and Campaign Monitor to deliver targeted and trackable digital promotions
- Regularly evaluate campaign and content performance, prepare reports, and offer strategic insights for future improvement
- Assist in testing ad variations and content formats to improve engagement and conversions
Community Engagement & Brand Experience
- Monitor and manage interactions across digital platforms, responding to questions, comments, and messages in a timely and tone-appropriate manner
- Represent the voice and values of MCC Ontario consistently across all digital spaces
- Elevate positive brand sentiment through intentional engagement, digital storytelling, and authentic presence
Collaboration & Innovation
- Contribute to the ideation and development of creative campaigns that grow MCC Ontario’s digital presence
- Stay informed on digital trends and platform updates to keep MCC’s digital content relevant and innovative
Other
- Participate in MCCO orientations, provincial meetings, Peace Conference and Staff Development Day
- Participate in a local faith community, being willing to use personal gifts within this community

Base salary: $56,821. This role starts on day 1 with a company paid benefit package
Group benefits package is employer paid: supplemental medical/dental/vision, life insurance, AD&D, global medical assistance, EAP, and RRSP contributions matched - starts on day one.
LTD premiums are the responsibility of all permanent, salaried positions. These are the responsibility of the team member and are paid through salary deduction
This role will work out of the MCC Ontario Office at 50 Kent Ave, Kitchener Ontario.
There are some hybrid options available, however the expectation would be to be working in office at least 2 days per week.
