Niagara Fresh Market is a family owned farm market that provides fresh produce, meat, dairy, ready-made meals and more for in-store purchase and delivery. We also feature a seasonal garden centre. The business is growing and we are looking to add to our team.
The Primary responsibilities for the job will be delivery of groceries for our retail farm market and delivery service. We deliver approximately 40 packages a day per driver so the driver is expected to maintain a reasonable pace to ensure all deliveries are made on time. Though many of the packages are fairly light some of the boxes may weigh up to 50 lbs and though we do provide a cart with the driver when needed it would be beneficial if the driver was comfortable carrying the weight when needed. The driver must be comfortable driving a large van (sprinter van) and possess a G level license with a clean driving record.
This job will require 8 hour days ( generally 8:00-4:30) on Tuesday - Saturday. The number of deliveries fluctuates but typically the work days are full days on the road though on the odd day it may require a couple of hours of work on-site to maintain a full 8 hour day.
We use an app to prepare the route and provide notifications of delivery times and status so a level of comfort with technology is a must (if you are comfortable using Google Maps you will be fine using this app).
When on the road you are representing the company and will be expected to drive with that in mind and be courteous with all customers that you come in contact with.
