Job Summary:
Western Carpet One is seeking a dedicated and reliable Delivery/ Delivery Driver to join our team in Saskatoon. This position will involve delivering flooring products to customers while also assisting in warehouse operations, when needed. The ideal candidate will have excellent driving skills, a strong attention to detail, and a positive attitude to provide exceptional service to our customers while supporting warehouse operations.
Delivery Driver Responsibilities:
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver flooring products to customers across Saskatoon and surrounding areas.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of products while adhering to traffic laws and safety procedures.
- Verify accuracy of deliveries by checking orders and addressing any discrepancies or customer concerns.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, maintaining a positive, professional relationship with customers.
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries, ensuring products are secured and protected during transit.
- Keep accurate records of deliveries, noting any issues, delays, or special customer requests.
- Maintain delivery vehicles in clean, good working condition and stocked with necessary equipment (e.g., delivery forms, GPS, etc.).
Warehouse Associate Responsibilities (When needed):
- Assist in receiving, organizing, and stocking flooring materials and related products in the warehouse.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment according to customer specifications.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure stock levels are accurate and products are stored appropriately.
- Assist in the unloading and loading of deliveries from suppliers and shipments to customers.
- Help maintain a clean and organized warehouse by ensuring products are correctly shelved and areas are free from clutter.
- Support team members in the assembly and preparation of products for customer delivery.
- Follow all safety protocols in the warehouse to maintain a safe working environment.
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and timely order fulfillment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to drive large vehicles.
- Previous experience as a delivery driver or warehouse associate is not required but considered an asset.
- Ability to operate delivery vehicles and use basic warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lift heavy items and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions.
- Occasional overtime or weekend work may be required.
- The role will involve lifting, carrying, and moving heavy products as part of day-to-day duties.
