Who We’re Looking For: Aquatics Deck Manager
We’re looking for an organized, proactive, and empathetic leader to join our team as Aquatics Deck Manager. You’ll play a key role in maintaining smooth pool deck operations, leading a dynamic team of instructors, and ensuring a clean, safe, and fun environment for all.
This is the perfect role for someone with aquatic leadership experience who loves working with kids and wants to make a direct impact—on both our team and our community.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Lead and support instructors, deck supervisors, and lifeguards with warmth and professionalism
- Conduct training sessions, staff meetings, and one-on-one feedback
- Uphold Brave Waves’ standards and culture on deck
Safety & Quality Control
- Monitor swim lessons for quality, safety, and consistency
- Enforce and educate staff on safety procedures and health regulations
- Ensure proper use of equipment and pool chemicals
Customer & Community Engagement
- Welcome families, handle feedback, and resolve concerns with grace
- Assist with scheduling and parent communications as needed
- Foster positive relationships that support retention and community-building
Deck Operations
- Oversee equipment setup/cleanup, facility inspections, and cleanliness
- Report maintenance needs and coordinate with facility staff
Program Growth & Mentorship
- Support new program launches, special events, and mini sessions
- Help evaluate and refine curriculum and teaching practices
- Mentor new instructors and contribute to our Brave Waves Mentorship Program
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous aquatics leadership experience preferred
- National Lifeguard and Standard First Aid with CPR-C required
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
- Confident swimmer with a passion for youth development
- Available for weekday evening shifts (Mon–Wed 3:30–8:30pm) and weekend shifts (Sat/Sun 8am–12:30pm or 12:30–5pm); Tuesday mornings (9–12pm) also available
- Minimum of two shifts/week required
