Position Overview
We are seeking an energetic, and compassionate Dance Teacher to join our team for the 2025–2026 season. This role focuses on teaching our youngest students (ages 2–6) in a variety of dance genres, including ballet, tap, jazz, acro, and hip hop. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about working with children, passionate about dance education, and committed to creating a positive, engaging classroom experience. This position may be combined with our After-School Performing Arts Program (ages 5-12).
Responsibilities
- Teach engaging and age-appropriate classes in ballet, tap, jazz, acro, and hip hop for ages 2–6.
- Create a supportive and encouraging classroom environment where students feel safe to explore and grow.
- Prepare students for in-studio presentations and year-end showcases.
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff to support student progress and well-being.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to uphold Limelight’s vision and standards.
- Provide guidance, encouragement, and patience to help students build confidence and a love of dance.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience teaching young children (ages 2–6) in multiple dance styles.
- Strong background in ballet, tap, jazz, acro, and hip hop.
- Compassionate, caring, and patient with excellent classroom management skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students while keeping classes fun and structured.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Preferred: CPR/First Aid certification,
- Valid criminal record check.
Position Details
- Contract: September 2025 – June 2026
- Hours Available: Monday–Friday 3:00–5:30 PM, plus Saturday & Sunday mornings.
- Pay: $20–$30 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
