Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Cybersecurity Instructor to deliver the NACC Cybersecurity Analyst Program at our career college. This role involves teaching and mentoring students in both theoretical and hands-on components of cybersecurity, preparing them for careers in the IT security field and supporting their pursuit of CompTIA certifications.
The successful candidate will bring both industry expertise and a passion for teaching, with a commitment to helping students succeed academically and professionally.
Duties
- Deliver lessons using NACC's standardized curriculum, including CompTIA-aligned content.
- Facilitate classroom and lab-based learning on topics such as IT foundations, networking, Linux, cybersecurity principles, cloud environments, and IT project management.
- Deliver instruction in accordance with adult learning principles and best practices.
- Provide individual and group support, mentoring, and coaching to students.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, including tests, assignments, projects, and practical simulations.
- Prepare students for CompTIA certification exams and provide review sessions as needed.
- Ensure course delivery is compliant with NACC standards and college policies.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and student performance.
- Collaborate with academic leadership on program improvement and feedback implementation.
- Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, technologies, and teaching methodologies.
- Engage in faculty meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of industry experience in cybersecurity, IT support, or network administration.
- Possession of CompTIA certifications (Security+, Network+, Linux+, or CySA+) or willingness to obtain within a set time frame.
- Strong technical knowledge in networking, operating systems, cloud platforms, and cyber defense strategies.
- Previous experience teaching or training adults in a college, corporate, or workshop environment (preferred).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to foster a supportive and engaging learning environment for diverse student populations.
- Proficiency with online learning platforms, virtual labs, and instructional technologies.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00-$30.00 per hour
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Hanmer, ON
