Course Description: Explores the concepts and skills necessary to manage the human and financial resources of small organizations (schools, NGOs, departments). Among the areas explored are labour contracts, supervision, grant writing and fundraising, use of volunteers, managing site-based budgets.
This course is not taught electronically or online.

Teaching Qualification Requirements (TQRs):
Education
1. PhD or equivalent in a relevant field (e.g. Educational Leadership) required
2. In exceptional cases, a Master's degree in a relevant field and/or extensive relevant experience
Experience
1. Expert knowledge of:
  • Theoretical principles, concepts and issues of educational resource management in institutional settings (e.g. schools, NGOs, departments).
  • Diverse practical approaches to educational resource management in institutional settings
  • Issues related to the day-to-day management of schools
  • the relationship of educational resource management to broader conceptions of educational leadership
2. Previous successful experience teaching similar course(s) at the graduate level
3.Experience as a school administrator or equivalent, preferably in the Quebec educational system
Other
  • Knowledge of the impact and proven record of integrating pedagogical approaches anchored in equity, diversity and inclusion
  • Familiarity using myCourses, Zoom, and other similar online platforms to facilitate quality teaching and learning experiences
  • Familiarity teaching blended classes is an asset
  • Familiarity with the application of a variety of digital and pedagogical teaching and learning tools
