Local Commercial Concrete Forming Company is looking to hire a concrete finisher. The position involves working with concrete to create smooth, level, and durable surfaces for various commercial applications. This role also requires expertise in operating specialized equipment, applying finishes, and ensuring the quality of the final product. Responsibilities include preparing surfaces, placing, and finishing concrete, using grinders to level and smooth concrete, applying various finishes like epoxy or other coatings, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. Key Responsibilities:
- Surface Preparation:This includes removing existing coatings, patching and repairing concrete, and ensuring the surface is clean and level.
- Grinding and Smoothing:Using various types of grinders to remove imperfections, level surfaces, and achieve the desired smoothness.
- Finishing:Applying coatings like epoxy, ESD, MMA, or other polyurethane coatings, as well as polishing concrete to achieve the desired aesthetic and durability.
- Equipment Operation:Safely operating and maintaining various types of concrete finishing equipment, including grinders, burnishers, scrubbers, and shot blasters.
- Safety Compliance:Adhering to all relevant safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience:Prior experience in concrete finishing, grinding, or related trades is required.
- Physical Fitness:The ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving heavy materials, working in various weather conditions, and standing for extended periods.
- Technical Skills:Proficiency in using concrete finishing equipment, understanding different types of finishes, and performing repairs.
- Safety Awareness:A strong understanding of safety hazards and the ability to implement corrective actions.
- Communication Skills:The ability to communicate effectively with team members and follow instructions.
