Position Summary
The Town of Milton is accepting applications for the part-time position of Concession Shift Leader. This position is responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the smooth operation of concessions with an emphasis on food preparation, serving customers and maintaining a sanitary work area. Duties include assisting in providing direction to part-time concession attendants as well as inventory management in a face paced environment while focusing on exceptional customer service.This position is a 9-month part time contract from September 2025 to June 2026 with the possibility of renewal. Successful candidates must be able to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.
Major Job Responsibilities
- Assign work and provide direction, support and leadership to concession attendants
- Provide excellent customer service
- Emphasis on food preparation, serving customers and maintaining a sanitary work area
- Ensure accurate cash handling; balance cash at end of shift
- Follow procedures for the opening and/or closing of concessions
- Stock shelves and display items in an organized manner
- Maintain equipment in an organized and clean manner
- Complete all inventory functions/reports
- Assist in orientation and training of concession staff
- Assist with orders, deliveries and inventory management
- Assist in special events as required
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs
- Comply with all health and safety practices as it relates to the work, standard operating guidelines and the Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Experience
- Minimum grade11 education
- Minimum one (1) year experience with food preparation and cash handling
- Must possess strong communication and customer service skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills as well as mature judgment and diplomacy in sensitive situations
- Strong math skills
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Experience using POS is an asset
- Standard First Aid/CPR Certification is an asset
- Safe Food Handlers Certification is an asset
- Successful candidates will be required to provide a criminal records check with vulnerable sector screening dated within 6 months as a condition of employment
