The Community Marketing Coordinator will enhance the brand presence by actively engaging in the promotion of the store, products, and services. This is a fun, active role that helps us further entrench Stong’s Market into the community and it involves meeting new people, looking for business collaboration opportunities and partnerships for activating on-site events. This role requires someone who is hands-on and loves networking. Proven experience in event marketing, local store marketing, sales or customer service would be an asset.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote the Brand: Represent the Stong’s brand through various channels including grassroots marketing and community events. Research and schedule marketing drops at targeted locations.
  • Customer Engagement: Build relationships with customers, corporate clients and local organizations to foster loyalty and long-term engagement.
  • Engage with community and charity organizations to create mutually beneficial partnerships that enhance brand visibility and goodwill through donations and other initiatives.
  • Networking: Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, event planners, corporate clients, charities and community organizations to expand our brand reach and increase our referral network. Provide a personal touch by sharing knowledge, offering tips, and making product & service recommendations.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that our high brand standards are present in all products, services, promotional activities, events, and customer interactions. Uphold the company’s reputation for excellence in every aspect of the role.
  • Event Participation: Assist in organizing and participating in promotional events to showcase our products and services. Assist in setting up and managing displays during these events.
  • Social Media: Provide and post social media content (photos or video) to the Stong’s Market accounts (i.e. photos taken at events or activations)
  • Records: Keep database of corporate clients’ contacts and details.
  • Feedback Collection: Gather and relay customer feedback, preferences, and trends to help the store improve and expand its offerings.
  • Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with the marketing, social media and design teams to ensure all activities align with the store’s brand image and marketing campaigns.
    • Developing and discussing strategies with the management team to increase sales. Engage with the team to ensure seamless communication and a fun, pleasant work environment.
  • Personal presentation: Embody the corporate identity in appearance, demeanor, values and ethics.


Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • 2+ years of related community marketing and event experience (preferred)
  • Self-motivated and driven
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Relationship builder – builds and preserves trusting relationships with the community and employees

  • Enthusiastic and brings positive energy
  • Responsible - takes initiative and takes charge of situations
  • Flexible and adaptable – adjusts quickly to changing situations; copes effectively with complexity and change
  • Organized and is able to share information effectively
  • Proven working experience in a marketing, event or customer service role.
  • This position requires a valid BC driver’s license and regular access to a personal vehicle for work related travel
  • Must have the ability to pick up, load, transport, carry, and set up event materials.
