This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Trailblazer (aka Community Librarian) who is passionate about working with the public and community organizations in a challenging and fast-paced environment.

Job Requirements:
- Master of Library & Information Studies degree, or equivalent, from ALA-accredited institution is required.
- Experience working with community organizations, Indigenous peoples, and newcomer populations is preferred.
- Experience working as a professional Librarian is preferred.

- A commitment to upholding the Canadian Federation of Library Associations position statements on Intellectual Freedom and Diversity and Inclusion.
- Ability to assess community interests and needs, and to plan services accordingly, in keeping with the Library's business plan and strategic directions.
- Ability to work effectively with customers of all ages and backgrounds; experience working with users from a wide variety of cultural, economic, social and educational backgrounds is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively outside of traditional library activities and settings.
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and new service directions.
- Demonstrated superior interpersonal, communication, presentation and collaboration skills.
- Ability to contribute positively and work effectively within a team environment.

Pay Band:
$41.02 - $52.36 per hour*
$41.02 - $52.36 per hour*
- Approximately $74,954 - $95,661 per annum based on a 35 hour work week.
Shift differential may apply in accordance with the terms and conditions of the CSU 52 Collective Agreement.
Note:
- Satisfactory background screenings is required for this position which includes a Criminal Record Check/Police Information Check.
- This position consists of varied schedules which include day, evening and weekend shifts.
- Community Librarians are subject to variable hours of work as per the Collective Agreement and shift length may vary based on operational needs.
