PCB ECAD Librarian, Permanent (Axiomatic Technologies, Canada)
Axiomatic Technologies is a leading designer and manufacturer of electronic controllers and power management converters for industrial customers. Engine control, machine control as well as control of various hydraulic systems are a few of many applications in which our controllers are trusted by customers worldwide. Axiomatic operates out of Canada and Finland.
Our Canadian office is looking for a PCB ECAD Librarian to join our R&D team. We are looking for a motivated and meticulous candidate with proven experience in using any of the leading PCB design software.
We are looking for a candidate that can work well independently and in a team environment with strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills. The chosen candidate will work closely with Hardware, Mechanical and Component Engineers as well as Purchasing and Manufacturing departments.
Responsibilities
- Create new library parts, schematic symbols and layout footprints
- Update layout footprints based on production feedback
- Maintain the PCB library, identify duplicate components, symbols and/or footprints
- Manage parts lifecycle and obsolescence
- Create Bill of Materials (BOM) and assist to layout team as needed
Requirements
- Technical school diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 2-5 years of experience working with PCB design software, preference to Altium
- Demonstrated understanding of PCB manufacturing and assembly processes
- Ability to understand manufacturer data sheets and mechanical drawings
- Knowledge of surface mount and through hole components and packages
- Knowledge of Silicon Expert and conflict minerals would be considered as an asset
