Overview
The club manager is a passionate leader who is committed to helping members and guests improve their lives through health and fitness. This individual is responsible for overseeing all aspects of club performance - from driving membership and training sales, to elevating the member experience, to leading a high-performing team.
This role requires strong self-motivation, leadership, communication, and the ability to positively influence and inspire both staff and members.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Leadership - As the primary driver of revenue, the club manager is focused on achieving membership and training sales goals. This includes leading by example with daily lead follow-ups, building relationships, and coaching the team on how to effectively present our offerings. A background in personal training isn’t required, but the ability to speak to our training programs and integrate our technology (Anytime Fitness App, body scanner, heart rate monitors, etc.) to support training growth is essential.
- Brand Ambassador - When you believe in the club, others will too. The club manager plays a key role in promoting the brand within the community through local B2B partnerships, outreach, and event planning. They execute national and local marketing campaigns with enthusiasm, using materials provided by the Anytime Fitness corporate team.
- Team Leadership -The club manager sets the tone for a strong, motivated, and united team. This includes hiring, training, and developing staff while fostering a culture that values accountability, growth, and fun. They lead with positivity and clarity, ensuring alignment with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and club goals.
- Operations Oversight - Responsible for the daily operations of the club, including performance reporting, lead management, member engagement, software systems, and social media presence. The manager also ensures the club is clean, safe, and welcoming at all times.
- Culture Champion - The club manager creates a welcoming, high energy environment where members feel supported and inspired. They deliver exceptional customer service and work to ensure that every guest’s experience is memorable and motivating.
Job Requirements
While experience in the fitness industry is a plus, it’s not required. Strong communication skills, a people-first attitude, and a drive to succeed are what matter most. A great candidate is:
- 18 years or older
- Available to work flexible hours (mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends)
- Friendly and outgoing
- Genuine and honest
- Motivated by results and goals
- Tech savvy and comfortable using digital tools
- Highly organized and proactive in time management
- Comfortable leading others and making decisions
- Willing and able to complete daily cleaning duties, including maintaining the cleanliness of the gym, equipment, and bathrooms
