Mission Creek Landing has been a part of the East Kelowna community for over 45 years. It is nestled in a residential park like setting and is adjacent to the scenic Mission Creek Regional Park. Mission Creek Landing provides a safe home for seniors who can no longer live independently, whether due to physical or cognitive issues.
We have recently opened our new Mission Creek Landing building on the same property! This new, state of the art, modern facility will be residence to 130 seniors, and we are looking for a dedicated, professional Clinical Coordinator to support the management team.
Reporting to the Site Administrator, the Clinical Coordinator works collaboratively with internal and external partners to promote excellence in nursing practice and resident satisfaction. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day care of our residents to assist and support them in making choices that promote independence, enhance their lives and enable them to age with dignity.

What You Will Do
- Assist in planning for and directing the nursing care, treatments, procedures, and healthcare services to meet resident healthcare needs and personal preferences.
- Coordinate discharge, transfer, and admission of clients for up to 96 long term care beds in cooperation with community nurses, and other facilities, families, and support staff.
- Arrange and chair interdisciplinary meetings such as care conferences, medication reviews, education and nurses/health care assistant staff meetings.
- Enhance employee performance through education, coaching, mentoring, guidance and role modeling. Supporting the Director of Care to conduct employee performance reviews, including participating in the disciplinary process with the care staff when necessary.
- Oversee the development and implementation of written health care plans, in cooperation with other disciplines and in accordance with instructions of the attending physician and family input.
- Oversee the resident Rai assessments to ensure the assessments are completed on time and the quarterly outcomes that are shared nationally meet all required benchmarks.
- Completing nursing audits to evaluate and make immediate changes to ensure the resident care needs meet all required Licensing and the health and authority requirements.
- Coordinate the supervision and review of preventative and restorative nursing procedures for each resident so as to achieve and maintain the highest possible degree of function, self-care, and independence.
- In the absence of the Director of Care, will be responsible and accountable for the day-to-day supervision and management of the care and service provision for Residents requiring complex care and services.
- Supporting families through the admission process and responding to questions or concerns that they may have about their loved one’s care.
- Cultivate a safe environment for those in the home, adhering to infection prevention protocols and directions, violence prevention, and cultural safety training.
- Identify staff educational needs, and work with the interdisciplinary team to set up education sessions.
- Maintain a liaison with medical staff, other professional services, support services, external agencies, and licensing services that affect the day-to-day operations of the facility.
- This position requires the sharing of on call responsibility for clinical advice and/or emergencies for weekends and afterhours.
Your Qualifications – The Must Have’s
- Graduation from a recognized Nursing program
- Member in a good standing with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
- Three to five years of related experience in a long-term care setting
- Demonstrated leadership and exceptional administrative abilities
- Valid First Aid certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Computer proficiency with and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Knowledge of the BC Residential Care Regulation and Community Care and Assisted Living Act
- Successful annual completion of RAI MDS certification
- Physical ability and emotional capacity to carry out the duties of the position
- Must successfully pass the prescribed criminal records check for the vulnerable sector and provide proof of COVID-19 vaccinations
