JOB STATEMENT:
ModernAdvisor is a fast-growing and registered online investment management company, focused on bringing high-quality and affordable investment advice to everyday Canadians. As a technology-enabled portfolio manager, we deliver our discretionary portfolio management services to thousands of clients in all Canadian provinces. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Client Onboarding Specialist for a 12-month contract position. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring a smooth and efficient onboarding experience for clients referred by financial advisors. You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to manage account setup and data integrity across a range of registered and non-registered investment accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track and report onboarding progress for each advisor's clients, keeping management and referring advisors informed
- Review onboarding spreadsheets, identify missing or incomplete data, and coordinate with clients and advisors to gather the required information
- Restructure and consolidate data from multiple spreadsheets into a format compatible with our systems
- Enter client information into the onboarding platform accurately and in a timely manner
- Liaise with advisors, operations staff, and back-office partners to ensure timely account opening and onboarding
- Respond to client and advisor questions regarding the onboarding process for various account types (RRSP, TFSA, RESP, RIF, etc.)
Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer literacy and tech-savviness
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to work with filters, formulas, and formatting for data transformation
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in financial services, ideally in investment management or financial advisory support
Nice to Have:
- Experience working with custodians, CRM systems, or financial onboarding platforms
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, KYC processes, and common onboarding workflows in wealth management
