Role Overview
As a Mold Cleaning Technician, you will be responsible for safely and effectively removing mold from our Post-Construction projects and commercial properties. You will use specialized cleaning techniques, equipment, and protective measures to restore spaces to a safe and healthy condition.
This role is hands-on, requires attention to detail, and a commitment to following health and safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mold cleaning, remediation, and disinfection.
- Be key player in developing the company Mold cleaning protocols based on industry best practices.
- Assess affected areas and communicate with supervisors to determine the best cleaning approach.
- Safely handle and apply cleaning agents and disinfectants.
- Operate specialized equipment (HEPA vacuums, air scrubbers, dehumidifiers).
- Follow strict health & safety procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Document work performed and report progress/issues to the team.
- Maintain a professional and respectful relationship with clients at all times.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in cleaning, remediation, or restoration (mold removal experience is a strong asset).
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, safety protocols, and protective equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in different environments (basements, crawl spaces, construction areas).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (preferred).
- Certifications in mold remediation, asbestos, or WHMIS are considered an asset.
Job Type: Freelance
Pay: $17.75-$28.75 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
