ZyTech is looking for Class 5 Delivery Driver for our Airdrie, AB location. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate, timely and safe delivery of miscellaneous products, as well as the return of material from job sites. T
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work in conjunction with Shipping department and Production Manager regarding delivery and schedules.
- Coordinate with shipping department regarding material that is being returned from sites. Ensure proper documentation is completed for inventory.
- Secure loads in accordance with industry standards, operating procedures and ensure documentation is prepared/checked and notify supervisor of any discrepancies. Load securement is a critical aspect to this role.
- Always ensure to adhere to proper procedure regarding material storage. General housekeeping throughout the day.
- Maintain electronic logbooks as per the ministry of transportation standards.
- Prepare vehicle for product delivery to both private homes and construction sites and verifies that all truss systems are securely loaded and wrapped as needed for protection from the elements.
- Ensures that all accompanying paperwork is completed and accompanies each shipment.
- Communicates with the Yard in real time and operates a two way radio and cell phone to receive instructions and provide status updates.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance on tractor-trailer, including documenting daily inspections and ensuring safety equipment and all maintenance documentation are in place.
- Other various duties may be required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean Driver's Abstract
- Minimum driver age of 25 years.
- Physically able to lift up to 50lbs throughout the day.
- Minimum 2 years of driving experience.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment as well as knowledge of lumber product is considered an asset.
- Good knowledge of city roadways, maintaining awareness of road restrictions and having the ability to source alternative routes.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written) with excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
- CSA work boots and appropriate clothing to work outside are required. PPE (personal protective equipment) will be provided.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Exposure to traffic, dust, dirt and extreme changes in temperature and weather.
- Moderate exposure to personal risk; safety boots are required.
- Busy, high volume environment.
- Frequently on the road and travelling to job and construction sites.
