Meridian Hauling is currently seeking a Class 5 driver/labourer to work with a dynamic and exciting team.
Your duties will include reporting to the manager, delivery and pick up of mini roll off bins, painting and maintaining roll off bins, washing and greasing trucks, assisting with maintenance and repairs of equipment, keeping the shop clean, and maintaining the yard.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver and pick up mini roll off bins in a 5 ton truck with hydraulic brakes
- Sanding, painting and stenciling bins according to written and verbal instructions.
- Washing roll off trucks, equipment, and bins with a hot pressure washer and soap
- Greasing roll off trucks, bins, and equipment
- Assist with repairs and maintenance in the shop
- Sweep and maintain a clean shop
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs on occasion
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Read and write English fluently
- Have a class 5 license with a clean driver's abstract with a minimum of 3 years experience driving a 5 ton vehicle
- Be able to work independently with little supervision or as a part of a team
- Be meticulous, concise, and a self starter
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year full time work experience as a general laborer
- Minimum 6 months experience working in construction industry or wash bay
- Basic understanding of hand tools and small equipment, their uses, and safe operation of them
- Knowledge of equipment maintenance and storage
- Ability to maintain concentration and mental alertness in various situations
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Have their own vehicle as we are not on a bus route
