THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a Civil Construction Field Operations Supervisor to support our Superintendent in overseeing day-to-day construction activities in the field. In this role, you’ll help keep projects on track, by managing schedules, coordinating crews and subtrades, and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently. This is a hands-on position that blends leadership with fieldwork, so the right candidate will be adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable balancing a variety of responsibilities. As a leader on site, you’ll provide clear direction to LaPrairie’s field teams and work closely with project managers to deliver quality results.

JOB DUTIES

  • Perform and oversee a range of civil infrastructure projects, including road construction, earthworks, new bridges, and structural rehabilitation.
  • Carry out construction and rehabilitation tasks on timber, concrete, cable, and steel bridges (standard and major).
  • Safely operate heavy equipment, such as skid steers, loaders, dozers, excavators, graders, and pile drivers.
  • Interpret and review project drawings and scopes to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Project Superintendent on equipment needs and resource planning.
  • Lead and supervise on-site activities with a strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven experience in civil and bridge construction/maintenance.
  • Site supervision or management experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of worksite safety and safe operating procedures in bridge construction and related trades.
  • Physically able to perform demanding outdoor tasks in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

This is a full-time, permanent role offering competitive compensation and a comprehensive health and welfare benefits package. You’ll have the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects across the scenic landscapes of Western Canada. If you’re motivated, safety-focused, and ready to take on meaningful work, including new bridges and civil infrastructure, we’d love to hear from you.

Interested candidates are invited to submit their application, including a resume and cover letter. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for further steps in the selection process.
