City Dispatcher / Load Booker – Trucking Operations

We are expanding our Ontario operations and are looking for a skilled City Dispatcher / Load Booker to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in coordinating local loads and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
Position Summary
The Dispatcher / Load Booker will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and booking local freight within Ontario. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and experience building relationships with customers and carriers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Book and schedule daily loads for local Ontario deliveries.
- Dispatch drivers, provide instructions, and monitor progress.
- Communicate with customers and brokers to secure freight.
- Manage and update load boards and transportation systems.
- Resolve service issues quickly and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company policies.
- Build strong relationships with drivers and external partners.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in dispatching or load booking (trucking / logistics preferred).
- Knowledge of Ontario routes and local freight market.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with load boards, dispatch software, and Microsoft Office.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Team player with strong organizational skills.
