Heritage Family Services is currently hiring full-time Child and Youth Care Workers to join our team in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. This role is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and youth in care, while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Shifts: Rotating schedule – 3 days on, 3 days off | 8 to 12-hour shifts
About the Role
We’re looking for individuals who are compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented — those who are often described as empathetic, organized, and strong communicators. You’ll work closely with children and youth to build healthy relationships through a trauma-informed approach.
Key Responsibilities
Build trusting relationships while respecting individual differences
Provide a secure environment and help youth manage emotional regulation
Follow safety procedures and policies to ensure well-being
Plan and engage in daily routines and youth-centered programming
Assist with meal preparation and promote positive self-identity
Advocate for youth rights and access to support resources
Offer emotional support and help youth develop life and coping skills
Qualifications
Must be 18 years or older
Post-secondary education or enrollment in Social Work or Human Services is an asset
Must pass a Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector), Child Intervention Check, and provide a Driver’s Abstract (fewer than 6 demerits)
Hold a valid Class 5 Driver’s License for 3 or more years in Canada
Understanding of Indigenous cultures and culturally responsive care
Respect for diversity in identities, backgrounds, gender, and sexuality
Ability to work across cultures and support marginalized populations
Mandatory Requirements:

A Criminal Record Check (with Vulnerable Sector) that is dated within the last 6 months
A Child Intervention Check that is dated within the last 6 months
Proof of eligibility to work in Canada
Class 5 Alberta Government Issued Driver’s License for 3 or more years in Canada
A Driver's Abstract that is dated within the last 6 months
Copy of education listed in resume.
