Royal City General Contracting Inc is looking to hire an apprentice carpenter. We are a company that focuses on quality or over quantity. We take on almost all portions of the job usually only subbing out electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and few other tasks. Tasks include but aren't limited to framing, drywall, flooring (tile, hardwood, vinyl, etc.), trim and doors, and painting.
Responsibilities include assisting in small to large renovation projects, candidates should be able to work alone when necessary. Job requirements include strong math skills, previous experience (3-4 years at least ideally) and/or preferably have taken a pre apprenticeship program, and ability to lift heavy objects. Punctuality is a must, if you are calling in sick once a week or showing up late on a regular basis this job is not for you. Initiative is also a must, candidate should take initiative to keep busy when necessary i.e. once completed task, start next task, or find a task such as cleaning or organizing site. Candidate should have own transportation (all jobs in Guelph and surrounding area) and have their own set of hand tools (list will be provided), power tools will be supplied.
Starting wages will be based on experience, skill level, schooling (ie Carpenter ticket) and what the person brings to the table. Staring wage is $20-30 but with room to go higher for talented and motivated employees. Hours are 8-4 Mon- Fri (35-40 hours) normally. If interested please send resume.
