Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Carpenter Helper to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in various carpentry tasks, contributing to the construction and restoration of residential and commercial projects. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn from experienced carpenters.
Duties
- Assist in the reading and interpretation of blueprints and schematics for construction projects.
- Support carpentry tasks including cabinet installation, flooring installation, and tile laying.
- Participate in concrete forming, masonry work, and rebar installation as needed.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various construction tasks.
- Engage in restoration projects, ensuring quality workmanship in all aspects of carpentry.
- Aid in construction painting and siding installation to enhance project aesthetics.
- Collaborate with team members on heavy lifting tasks and assembly of structures or components.
- Provide maintenance person support across various trades including plumbing and electrical work when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency on site.
Experience
- Previous experience in carpentry or related fields is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes is a plus.
- Experience with CNC machinery or woodworking techniques will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of roofing practices, caulking techniques, and general construction principles is beneficial.
