Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Select the proper ring gear to correspond with the number of wings on the tool to be faced.
- Mount the tool on the grinding arbor.
- Adjust the hook of the tool by placing one wing against the back of the wheel. When finished, back the tool away from the wheel.
- Start the machine.
- Slowly approach the wheel with the tool using the infeed screw, bring the tool in enough to spark the tip.
- Index the tool to the next wing, spark that tip, if the tip does not hit the wheel squarely refer back to steps 3,4,5.
- Repeat the above process until the head is finished.
- Visually inspect the entire head for dullness, tapered tips, bowed tips, thick and thin tips, etc.
- Place the tool where appropriate for the next step
- Train others in Sharpening and grinding, ensure the safety of trainee, manage process flow of tools

High School Education
3 year experience preferred
If no experience, will need to successfully complete on-the-job training program.
TRAINING
Previous experience or successfully completed on-the-job training
All OSHA mandated safety training
Cross-trained in another job
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
