As the Promotion Coordinator in the Career Development section, you will be responsible for planning and managing the Calgary Police Service's annual rank promotion process. Specific duties include:
- Coordinate the annual police rank promotion process, including setting timelines, organizing interview panels, scheduling exams, and supporting selection meetings.
- Manage and update a database of exam questions to ensure they remain current and relevant.
- Develop, administer, and oversee the delivery of promotion exams.
- Review and manage the internal promotion process annually, incorporating feedback and ensuring alignment with legal, contractual, and policy requirements.
- Deliver workshops and information sessions to police members about the promotion process.
- Provide expert advice and support to management teams on promotion-related matters as needed.
Qualifications
- A 1-year Certificate in Human Resources or Criminal Justice and five years of related experience working in a law enforcement environment.
- Working knowledge of the criminal code and relevant justice legislation will be considered an asset.
- Preference will be given to applicants who have experience using Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS).
- The successful candidate will be competent in communication, efficiency and thoroughness, focus on results, impact and influence, planning and prioritizing/visionary, relationship building, service orientation.

- Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications. Education obtained from out of country must have or be able to obtain, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation of equivalent credentials.
