Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Cake Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and cake decorating, and have skills to created custom cake orders, do different types of piping and finishes. They will need to be able to do this is a fast paced environment This role involves baking as well as decorating visually appealing cakes that meet customer specifications while adhering to food safety standards. Duties
- Design and decorate cakes according to customer orders and specifications.
- Prepare and bake various types of cakes, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Utilize various decorating techniques, including piping, fondant application, and airbrushing.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, following food safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to fulfill large orders or special requests.
- Provide excellent customer service by interacting with customers regarding their cake preferences and orders.
- Assist in inventory management of baking supplies and ingredients.
- Work in the retail front cashing out customers from time to time.
- Must be able to work Sundays and weekday evenings until 6:30pm
Skills
- Proven experience in cake decorating, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and handling procedures within a kitchen environment.
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques and baking processes.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Creativity and artistic ability to design unique cake decorations.
- Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant setting is preferred but not required.
