We are seeking an experienced,talented and creative Cake Decorator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for decorating cakes, with a keen eye for detail and an artistic flair. As a Cake Decorator, you will be responsible for creating visually stunning cakes that not only taste delicious but also meet our customers' expectations. This role requires strong skills in food handling and safety, as well as excellent customer service abilities.
Responsibilities
- Design and decorate cakes according to customer specifications and company standards.
- Prepare cake icings, and fillings while adhering to food safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their vision and provide recommendations for cake designs.
- Ensure all cakes are packaged appropriately for delivery or display.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, following all food handling protocols.
- Assist in preparing other baked goods as needed.
- Stay updated on current trends in cake decorating and incorporate new techniques into your work.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving any issues related to cake orders.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in cake decorating and fondant work is preferred.
- Must be able to make fondant toppers and fondant covered cakes.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Experience working in a kitchen environment, including familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools.
- Creative mindset with the ability to execute intricate designs and decorations on cakes.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays.
