The Business Development Associate will be responsible to prospecting new clients by networking, cold calling, advertising, relationship building or other means of generating interest from potential clients. The role requires the individual to develop a rapport with new clients and provide support that will continually improve the relationship.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with prospective customers to generate new business for the organization’s products/services.
- Analyzes the territory/market’s potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customers to the organization.
- Research sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential.
- Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.
- Identifies advantages and compares organization’s products/services.
- Keeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising, and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas.
- Makes telephone calls and in-person visits and presentations to existing and prospective customers.
- Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
- Participates in trade shows and conventions.
- Maintain and develop a computerized customer and prospect database.
- First Nations engagement.
- Participates in the PAR Certification process.
- Execution of Indigenous inclusion strategy.
- Willingness to travel as necessary.
Qualifications
- Proven experience selling services within the electrical transmission, renewable energy, and/or pipeline industries
- Access matting sales experience is considered a strong asset
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Solid understanding of marketing and advertising principles
- Experience in managing marketing agency relationships is an asset
- Demonstrated proficiency in social media communication and content development
