The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, and assisting with day-to-day administrative operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, a high degree of confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily bookkeeping and accounting duties (accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, etc.)
- Prepare and process bi-weekly or monthly payroll using [specify software, e.g., QuickBooks, etc.]
- Assist with preparation of financial reports, HST filings, and year-end documentation
- Maintain organized filing systems for financial and employee records
- Monitor office supplies and coordinate purchases
- Handle incoming phone calls, emails, and correspondence
- Support the management team with administrative tasks and special projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of bookkeeping and payroll experience
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Assets (not required but considered a plus):
- Experience in a small business or construction environment
- Familiarity with CRA payroll and tax regulations
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 per week
