Job Title: Bookkeeper

Company Overview:
We are a growing company with a strong financial foundation and a newly established in-house accounting team. We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to handle day-to-day accounting tasks and support our financial operations under the supervision of our In-House Accountant.
Position Summary:
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing routine accounting functions including accounts payable, payroll processing, transaction posting, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role is vital in ensuring smooth financial operations and will report directly to the In-House Accountant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Prepare and process payroll accurately and on time
- Post financial transactions into accounting software and maintain the general ledger
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial records
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
- Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting files and documentation
- Support the In-House Accountant with financial reporting and compliance as needed
- Communicate with vendors, employees, and other stakeholders regarding financial transactions
Qualifications:
- Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a corporate environment
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently
- Good communication skills and a collaborative attitude
- Basic understanding of payroll processes and tax regulations is an asset
